The agricultural value chain faces several critical challenges that hinder the progress and profitability of small-scale farmers. FEED’s approach focuses on addressing these challenges through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships.

Our Vision

By forging strong partnerships between farmers, market players, and stakeholders, we aim to create a seamless link that enhances both production and market access. Our goal is to ensure high-value agricultural produce thrives through strategic investments and direct connections from farm to table.

What Drives PPPAVCD?

Our mission is multi-faceted and dynamic, focusing on several core areas:
Elevating Agricultural Efforts

Partnering with the private sector to amplify government initiatives in agriculture.

Optimizing Production
Addressing all aspects of production and post-harvest management to boost productivity and nutrition.
Holistic Value Chain Support
Assisting states in managing every stage of the value chain from pre-production to consumer delivery.
Creating Jobs
Generating employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled individuals, particularly the youth.
Enhancing Profitability
Improving value addition and ensuring increased profitability for farmers by transforming farming into a viable business proposition.

Who Makes It Happen?

The success of our initiatives lies in our diverse and inclusive implementation network, which brings together a wide range of stakeholders, each playing a crucial role in enhancing agricultural value chains. Our network includes:

Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Cooperatives, and Societies

These grassroots organizations are pivotal in aggregating farmers, enabling collective action, and providing marginal farmers with access to markets, resources, and services. They empower farmers to participate effectively in value chains and improve their bargaining power.

Partner Organizations

These are key players in value chain development, including value chain service providers, market linkage facilitators, and buyers. They bridge the gap between production and market demand, ensuring that farmers have reliable outlets for their produce. Partner organizations play a special role by offering expertise in logistics, processing, and marketing, thereby enhancing the efficiency and profitability of the entire value chain.

Public Sector Entities

Our collaboration extends to both central and state governments and their associated bodies, such as State Agriculture and Marketing Boards. These entities provide the necessary policy support, regulatory frameworks, and financial incentives to foster a conducive environment for agricultural growth and development.

Developmental Organizations

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs), and Multilateral Donor Agencies are integral to our network. They bring valuable resources, expertise, and funding to support sustainable development initiatives, focusing on poverty alleviation, food security, and rural development.

The Public-Private Partnership for Agriculture Value Chain Development (PPPAVCD) is a government initiative designed to facilitate large-scale, integrated projects within the agriculture and allied sectors. This scheme adopts a value chain approach, aiming to aggregate farmers, enhance their income, and streamline the agricultural supply chain. By focusing on collaboration and innovation, PPPAVCD seeks to transform agricultural practices and create sustainable growth across the sector.

In this domain, the FICCI-FEED Project Management Unit (PMU) for agriculture value chain development plays a pivotal role. The PMU unites diverse stakeholders—including government agencies, private enterprises, and farmer organizations—to drive integrated agricultural development. Our approach emphasizes collaboration, ensuring that every player in the value chain contributes to and benefits from sustainable agricultural practices. By aligning resources and expertise, we create an ecosystem where innovation flourishes, and farmers receive the support they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive market.

Our Approach (PPPAVCD PMU)

The FICCI-FEED Project Management Unit (PMU) is committed to fostering sustainable agricultural value chains by offering strategic support and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders. Our approach is centered on the following core components:
Technical & Secretarial Support
We provide essential technical and secretarial assistance to central and state governments, ensuring that agricultural policies and initiatives are effectively aligned and implemented to promote value chain development.
Project Building and Design
Our team aids implementing agencies in designing and preparing projects by offering the necessary information, tools, and support. This ensures projects are strategically developed to maximize impact and sustainability, tailored to the specific needs of the agricultural sector.
Implementation Oversight
We ensure that all projects are executed efficiently and monitored closely. Our oversight guarantees that projects adhere to established goals and standards, maintaining accountability and delivering desired outcomes.
Knowledge Sharing
We facilitate the exchange of best practices and manage the flow of knowledge within the value chain ecosystem. By providing feedback and insights, we help refine strategies, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation to evolving challenges.
Resource Hub
The PMU acts as a central repository of valuable resources, including case studies, research findings, and relevant documents. This hub provides stakeholders with access to critical information, enabling informed decision-making and strategy development.
Building Strategic Relationships
We are committed to building and nurturing strategic relationships with all stakeholders involved in the agricultural value chain. This includes Farmer Producer Organizations, cooperatives, value chain service providers, market linkage facilitators, public sector entities, and developmental organizations. Our inclusive network ensures comprehensive and effective value chain design and implementation.
Investment Opportunities
We organize national and state-level investment summits to attract and facilitate investments in the agricultural sector. These events provide a platform for showcasing potential projects, connecting investors with opportunities, and driving economic growth.
