Our report launch event kicked off with a powerful discussion on the future of agriculture for marginal farmers.
Samik Sundar Das, Senior Specialist at The World Bank, shared valuable insights on the evolving economic landscape, questioning the sustainability of relying solely on agriculture for marginal farmers to move beyond subsistence.
We were honored to have Samuel Praveen Kumar, Joint Secretary of Extension at the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, unveil our report on the state of marginal farmers in India. He called for a shift in perception—from viewing agriculture as just a means of livelihood to treating it as a dynamic enterprise. He emphasized the need to engage rural youth and encourage their entrepreneurial spirit to create opportunity-driven agricultural models.
Harish Damodaran, National Editor at The Indian Express, highlighted the importance of capital and market access for marginal farmers. These resources enable them to engage in high-value agriculture, transforming their livelihoods and fostering economic growth.
Stay tuned for more key insights and innovative solutions as we continue our mission to empower marginal farmers and transform the agricultural sector.
