Global Collaboration for Marginal Farmers & Agri Value Chains!

FEED is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands, to commission a Global State of Marginal Farmers report and explore transformative solutions for agri value chains.

In a high-level meeting on January 24, 2025, attended by key stakeholders—including representatives from Netherlands Embassy in India, NAFED India, The World Bank, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Heifer International, Passing Gifts, FDRVC (Foundation For Devlopment Of Rural Value Chains), Transform Rural India, and more—we set the agenda for:

  • Addressing challenges faced by marginal farmers
  • Strengthening FPOs, cooperatives & SHGs
  • Driving private sector investment & climate-resilient agriculture
  • Unlocking opportunities in solar energy & diversified crops

A key focus? Developing a business case for potato farming with cutting-edge Dutch agri-tech & market linkages.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. ir. Sjoukje Heimovaara, President of the Executive Board, Wageningen University & Research, for her leadership and vision in advancing this collaboration.

Dr. Sanjeev Chopra, Honorary Chairman of FEED, emphasized, “This partnership is a pivotal step toward empowering smallholder farmers through innovation and systemic change.”

Together, we are shaping the future of inclusive and sustainable agriculture!
