Poultry for Protein Security: A Backbone of Nutrition Security for a Viksit Bharat

Nutrition security is a critical pillar of equitable rural development.

We are proud to share that Forum of Enterprises for Equitable Development (FEED)’s Managing Trustee, Shri Suryamani Roul recently participated in the highly insightful Roundtable Dialogue hosted by the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) on “Poultry for Protein Security: A Backbone of Nutrition Security for a Viksit Bharat.”

For marginal farming communities, poultry is not just an accessible, high-quality source of protein – it is a vital livelihood engine, especially for women.
Engaging in national dialogues around food safety, biosecurity, and cold chain infrastructure is essential to ensuring these nutritional and economic benefits reach the most vulnerable populations.

Kudos to Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture and Dr. P. K. Shukla for convening this much-needed discussion. We look forward to seeing these insights translate into actionable policies for a healthier India!
